English Baptisms are every 3rd Saturday of the Month at 10:30am 

Requirements for Child Baptism

Registrations for Baptism must be done in person by one of the parents only.
  • Children must be under 7 years old on the day of Baptism, children over seven must attend religious education classes. 
  • Only the parent of the child can register for baptism you must come to the parish office and complete a registration form.
  • Need to bring the childbirth certificate.
  • Baptism in English are held every 4th Saturday of the Month at 10am.
  • Parents and God Parents are required to attend a baptism preparation class which is held on the Tuesday before the baptism day at 7pm in the church. In consideration to others, please do NOT bring children to the class.
  • Cancellations must be done 30 days prior to the baptism day. 
GODPARENTS
A Godparent together with the parents has the responsibility to present an infant for baptism and to help the baptized person lead a Christian life.
  • There is to be only one male godparent or one female godparent or one of each.

A Godparent must
  • have the ability and intention of fulfilling the responsibility of a godparent;
  • have completed the sixteenth year of age;
  • be a Catholic who has been confirmed and has received first Holy Communion,
  • and who leads a life of faith in keeping with the godparent’s responsibility;
  • not be the father or mother of the one to be baptized.
  • God parents must be married through the Roman Catholic church.

Requisitos para Bautismo de Niños

Las Registraciones para Bautismos son hechos en persona por uno de los padres solamente.
  • El niño/a debe tener 7 años o menos el día del Bautismo, si el niño tiene más de 7 años deberá asistir a las clases de educación religiosa (catecismo). contactar a la Hrna Gisela 408-926-9287
  • Solamente los padres pueden pedir el Sacramento del Bautismo para sus hijos y deben venir a la oficina parroquial para completar la registración.
  • Necesita traer el certificado de nacimiento del niño/a.
  • Regularmente los bautizos en español son cada primer y segundo sábado del mes a las 9am y 10am y cada cuarto sábado del mes a las 9am.  
  • Los padres y padrinos tendrán que asistir a una clase pre-bautismal. La fecha de la clase se le dara el dia que se registre para el bautizo. En consideración a los demás, favor NO traer a los niños a la clase.
  • Toda cancelación debe hacerse por lo menos 30 días antes del bautizo. no hay reembolso en caso de cancelacion.​
PADRINOS 
Los padrinos, junto con los padres, tiene la responsabilidad de presentar al niño al bautismo y ayudar al bautizado a llevar una vida cristiana.
  • Sólo habrá un padrino o una madrina o uno de cada uno.
Un padrino debe
  • tener la capacidad e intención de cumplir la responsabilidad de padrino;
  • haber cumplido los dieciséis años de edad;
  • ser católico, haber sido confirmado y haber recibido la Primera Comunión,
  • Llevar una vida de fe acorde con la responsabilidad del padrino;
  • ser Solteros sin compromiso o casados por la Iglesia.
  • no ser padre o madre del que va a ser bautizado.

Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word."

Christ's Baptism

All the Old Covenant prefigurations find their fulfillment in Christ Jesus. He begins his public life after having himself baptized by St. John the Baptist in the Jordan. After his resurrection Christ gives this mission to his apostles: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that i have commanded you" (Mt 28:19-20)

Bautismo

El santo Bautismo es el fundamento de toda la vida cristiana, el pórtico de la vida en el Espíritu (vitae spiritualis ianua), y la puerta que abre el acceso a los otros sacramentos. Por el Bautismo somos liberados del pecado y regenerados como hijos de Dios, llegamos a ser miembros de Cristo y somos incorporados a la Iglesia y hechos partícipes de su misión: "El bautismo es el sacramento de la regeneración por el agua y la palabra."

Bautismo de Cristo

Todas las prefiguraciones del Antiguo Pacto encuentran su cumplimiento en Cristo Jesús. Comienza su vida pública después de hacerse bautizar por Juan el Bautista en el Jordán. Después de su resurrección, Cristo da esta misión a sus apóstoles: "Id, pues, y haced discípulos a todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo, enseñándoles a observar todo cuanto yo os he mandado" (Mt 28:19-20)
